The Wines

The grapes are 100% North East Victorian, selected from parcels of fruit hand made at Pfeiffer’s winery in Wahgunyah (Rutherglen), and blended after exhaustive barrel and tank tastings as well as technical analysis at the winery.

The ambition is to prepare wines that truly reflect regional and varietal flavours and characteristics and also deliver real value for money.

The wine is then blended under the close scrutiny of Chris and Jen Pfeiffer and bottled ready for export.

After being allowed to settle the wine is dispatched to various distributors in Asia, Europe and North America; the bulk going to Alberta in Canada.

Flavour & Style:

Predominantly, chardonnay (a tiny amount of viogner is added for complexity), this is a very elegant wine. It has ripe and generous fruit with notes of melon, stone fruits and peaches complemented by a touch discernable cedar spice from oak. This blend was fermented (partly in barrel and partly clean fresh Chardonnay made entirely in stainless steel. The result; outstanding value for money wine: fresh, clean flavoursome Chardonnay of great calibre.

A full flavoured blend of entirely North Eastern Victorian fruit this premium Shiraz shows intense but soft blackberry fruit with notes of vanilla plus savoury black pepper and spice. Sensitive oak contact, (using both hogshead and barrique barrels), and a mix of American and French (with some new, one and two year old), make this an outstanding value for money wine. (We challenge anyone to detect the tiny amount of merlot (4%) or even smaller amount of viogner we added to enhance the flavour of this lovely, soft red wine)
